A Quebec trade fair dedicated to fish and other seafood of the St. Lawrence
The fourth edition of the Smarter Seafood Expo will take place from February 24th to 26th, 2025 at the Manoir du Lac Delage in Québec city.
This commercial event aims to enhance access to fish and other seafood of the St. Lawrence and is exclusively dedicated to the Quebec market. By prioritizing our own merchants, fishmongers and restaurateurs, Quebec is opting to feed itself first and thereby limit the export of our marine and aquatic resources to international markets.
From lobster to Stimpson’s surfclam, from common rock crab to sea cucumber, from Greenland halibut to beaked redfish, from seaweeds to seal, our majestic St. Lawrence is teeming with top-quality yet little-known products that gourmets and gourmands alike are eager to sample.
Fishers, producers, processors, distributors, mariculturists, fishmongers, restaurateurs, institutional representatives and business partners… Come join us to celebrate the quality of Quebec seafood products!

LET US GIVE YOU A TASTE OF THE SEA
For vendors, the Smarter Seafood Expo is your chance to expose the unmatched quality of products harvested in our cold waters to Quebec-based restaurateurs, fishmongers and grocers and to showcase the diversity of your product line.
For this fourth edition, some 250 buyers, visitors and observers are expected, including fishmongers, chefs, merchants, and institutional representatives (public daycares, hospitals, schools, etc.) from all across Quebec. This is an excellent opportunity to meet with them and sell your products.
Throughout the event, you will be able to expand your business network while helping to bring the sea to our tables.

SAMPLING THE FLAVOURS OF THE SEA
For buyers, the Smarter Seafood Expo is an opportunity to plan and prioritize your purchases of fish and other seafood from the cold waters of the St. Lawrence before the start of the fishing season and thus secure a steady supply of local marine products.
Approximately 30 vendors are expected for this fourth edition of the event. Meet with mariculturists, producers and processors of Quebec marine commodities and enjoy access to well-known fish and other seafood products such as lobster and snow crab, while at the same time discovering “up-and-coming” species such as the green sea urchin, algae, grey seal, common rock crab or beaked redfish (and much more) in order to bring new flavours and textures into kitchens and restaurants across Quebec.
This event will enable you to expand your network of purveyors of Quebec marine and aquatic products, and in doing so bring the tastes of the sea onto our palates.
– Distributors, Transporters, Institutional representatives, Other services, Media, Researchers –
COME DISCOVER THE SAVOUR OF THE SEA

Partnership

Even if the citizens of Quebec are proud of their land and generally aware of the treasures of the St. Lawrence, they don’t always have the opportunity to find these products in their stores and markets. For the past several years, Smarter Seafood, together with restaurateurs, fishmongers and chefs, has been striving to familiarize the general public with these first-rate products. This fourth edition of the Smarter Seafood Expo is another opportunity to achieve our objectives, namely to limit the export of our marine resources and to put locally harvested fish and other seafood back on tables throughout the province.
To make this event an annual success, Exploramer is seeking to team up with renowned partners who care about the sustainable development of the St. Lawrence, the economy of coastal regions and the long-term health of the fishing industry. Just like us, our partners seek regional access to Quebec’s marine and aquatic products while striving to commercialize them in our own markets.
To make this fourth edition of the Smarter Seafood Expo a success, we need your help. Join us for the challenge, whether it’s as a partner, sponsor, donor, or product and service provider.
